Holiday Greetings from the President

Filed under: Interim President, John Deans — bccpresident @ 6:56 pm

As the Fall 2009 semester draws to a close and with the holiday season upon us, I want to take this opportunity to wish each of you the happiest of holidays. Mary Jo and I hope that your celebrations will find you surrounded by family and friends and that the new year will bring you and the College every success.

It seems hard for me to believe that I have been a part of your community for six months now. It is a time which as Mary Jo put it in our holiday note to friends, I have “immensely enjoyed” and one which I will always treasure. The faculty, staff and students of Broome have been most welcoming and you have all generously shared your college with me; indeed, you have made it possible for me to feel that BCC will, in many ways, always be my college as well! I thank you for all of your support and for the opportunity to have served with you.

Like each of you, I look forward to the arrival of Dr. Drumm. In the meantime, it will be my privilege to help with the start-up of the Spring 2010 semester and to work a little longer with a college community so dedicated to making quality education happen.

Happy holidays.

I want to thank Foundation Executive Director, Judy Siggins, for yet one more stroke of genius- namely, providing a topic for this morning’s roundtable that gives Julie Peacock and me a lot of latitude regarding the focus of our comments. (more…)
