As we near the end of the semester…
Just a couple of brief items to mention, as we near the end of the semester:
1. The 2009-2010 proposed budget for Broome Community College has been submitted to the Broome County Executive and County Legislature for consideration. Very briefly, the proposed budget calls for a spending increase (over 2008-2009) of 3.5% along with a revenue increase of 3.5%. The College is seeking a 4% Sponsor-contribution increase. Regina Losinger will be sending out to the College community, through the Department Chairs, Division Heads, and others as appropriate, copies of the proposed budget. I want to extend a collective “thank you” to the Campus for the many contributions and input into the budget proposal.
2.As all of us realize, the next few weeks will be producing a large number of BCC activities, recognitions, and ceremonies of one kind or another. While I will make special efforts to attend as many of these functions as I can, please understand that my attendance is not always possible. Feel free to contact Patti, if your area is sponsoring an end-of-year event, to check on my availability. I enjoy participating in these types of activities when I am able, and I hope I’ll be able to attend your event(s).
